This recipe is what happens when you have some leftover steamed butternut squash and some chickpeas sitting in your fridge! I often think up fun food combinations but this time, these two ingredients were just sitting in small leftover containers on the same shelf, waiting to be discovered!
The highlight of my night was when my husband kept asking for more hummus (he is a notorious veggie and fruit hater).

Butternut Squash Hummus
1 cup steamed butternut squash
1 cup cooked or canned chickpeas
1 tablespoon tahini paste
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup olive oil
1 garlic clove
2 tablespoons water, or more, to thin
salt, to taste
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, optional
Blend or process all ingredients adding more water if needed to thin out.
