I made these chocolate Krispie treats with my pre- school cooking class and the kids were begging for more! As a mom and a kids cooking teacher, I love a good no- bake recipe that I can have my kids make along with me and this definitely fits the bill! This recipe is vegan, gluten free and allergy friendly! The recipe is inspired by Chocolate Covered Katie's Rice Krispie treats.
Chocolate Krispie Treats
3 cups Brown Rice Cereal (I like Erewon)
1/2 cup coconut butter
1/2 cup maple syrup (this is very sweet because it's tailored to kids taste buds, feel free to reduce the sweetener)
1/4 cup cacao powder
Soften coconut butter (I usually just stick the jar in a glass measuring cup with hot water in it). Mix softened coconut butter with maple syrup and vanilla. Add cacao powder and Rice Krispies and salt and mix very well. Pour into a parchment lined brownie pan or square Pyrex. Freeze for at least a half hour to set. Cut into squares.
